I’ll be in Chicago on Wednesday, April 30, reading from Pregnant Butch at the great, never-did-try-to-disavow-feminism bookstore Women & Children First, at 5233 N. Clark St. Chicago, IL 60640, at 7:30 pm. -A.K.
While I’m in LA, I will be reading at homo-centric, LA’s only ongoing LGBTQI reading series, curated and hosted by Hank Henderson at Stories Books, 1716 West Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90026 – on April 17 – at 7:30 pm.
Also reading will be Bonnie Kaplan and Charles Jensen, both contributors to the anthology This Assignment is So Gay: lgbtiq Poets on the Art of Teaching (Sibling Rivalry), a Lambda Literary Finalist for best lgbt anthology.
For a spring pastime, Dame Magazine proposes staying home to read Pregnant Butch.
A.K. Summers’s PREGNANT BUTCH is…
…irreverent and often caustic, with bold images that both capture the details of everyday life and exaggerate its incongruities…should make all of us rethink what it means to be a pregnant woman or a masculine-presenting one. —Dana Rudolph, founder and publisher of Mombian, an award-winning blog and resource directory for LGBT parents

…You might get this, a lamphrey! Or if you’re lucky, a harmless Lampda. Anyway, besides the review, there is additionally an interview with me about PB at Lambda Lit:
Here’s some New World Craziness: Reports are in that PB gets a mention in the April edition of Vanity Fair (Elissa Schappell’s “Hot Type” book column).
“Graphic memoirist A.K. Summers’s Pregnant Butch (Soft Skull) is straight-up hilarious.” – Vanity Fair, April 2014
…Though now that I see it’s the Game of Thrones cover, well, I almost did subtitle Pregnant Butch: A Song of Ice and Fire…
